Who are we?

Artzénico was founded in March 2007 by Bonifaz Díaz Aldana and Jordi Möllering. It's the most innovative theater group in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.
Artzénico wants to innovate in theater and art and wants to give Quetzaltenango an unconventional touch. The group consists of young residents (Guatemalan and Non-Guatemalan) of Quetzaltenango.
Artzénico finds inspiration in everything that in its environment and puts it into an absurd context. Instead of sending out ready-to-consume messages, the group wants the audience itself to think about the presented themes.
Artzénico is reviving the dormant Guatemalan theater movement and wants to take it to other countries!

Our goal

• To revive theater in Quetzaltenango and Guatemala in general.
• To change the existing conventional idea of theater.
• To motivate people to do innovative activities.

Artzénico is forming a local and national artistic movement dedicated to creating experimental and innovative artistic activities.
Artzénico does everything possible to change the conformism and apathy that dominate the Guatemalan society.

Objectives

To present theater plays in Guatemala and outside of the country, using various artistic tools.
To create and interest in theater and arts in general in Guatemala.
